Marco Simoncelli (born 20 January 1987 in Cattolica) is an Italian Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. A top rider of the Italian Minimoto Championship from 1996 to 2000, Marco Simoncelli moved to 125cc bikes after taking two consecutive titles in the aforementioned discipline. After a promising first season in the 125 Honda Trophy, Simoncelli took the European 125cc title in 2002 and had a first taste of Grand Prix racing the same year.On 25 June 2009 it was confirmed that Simoncelli would move up to premier class racing for 2010 MotoGP championship after agreeing to ride with the San Carlo Gresini Honda team.

Aleix Espargaró (born 30 July 1989 in Granollers, Spain) is a Spanish motorcycle road racer.On October 6 2009 it was announced that Espargaró had signed an agreement with Pramac Ducati to race in the 2010 MotoGP Championship. He will replace Niccolò Canepa in the team. He also replaced the injured Canepa for the last two races of the 2009 season in Sepang and Valencia.

Hector Barbera survived a huge crash during the Italian round of the championship on June 1, 2008. Running second behind Marco Simoncelli on the penultimate lap who tried to defend his lead by changing his line on the straight, Barberá slipstreamed onto Simoncelli's back wheel and clipped it with his front brake lever. His bike somersaulted through the air, with Barberá escaping somewhat uninjured. However, a further crash in practice at Motegi left him with two spinal fractures, ending his season
On 20 August 2009 it was announced Barberá will move to MotoGP in 2010, riding for team Aspar which will also move from 250cc to MotoGP. The team will use Ducati customer bikes

He debuted in the 125cc World Championship with the Finnish rookie team Ajo Motorsport in 2001 and was awarded the "Rookie of the Year" in 2002. After moving to Red Bull KTM during the 2003 season, he finished runner-up in the class in 2005 and 2006

Fausto Gresini is pleased to announce that Marco Melandri will line up alongside Marco Simoncelli in the San Carlo Honda Gresini Team for 2010. It is a case of ‘Back to the Future’ for the 27-year-old from Ravenna, who returns to the Italian outfit after a spending year with Ducati in 2008 and the current season on board the Team Hayate Kawasaki. Before that the team and rider enjoyed a three-year relationship, from 2005 to 2007, that saw Melandri take the runner-up spot in the championship, win five races and finish on the podium no fewer than 17 times. During that time Melandri upheld the winning spirit at Honda Gresini and always set his sights on top results even in difficult times.
